Get ready for a full day of family fun, games, and community celebration at Chapparal Park. Planning is already underway, and we invite YOU to be part of the excitement!

Vendor Registration Now Open – 4th of July Party in the Park
Join us in celebrating 50 Years of the World’s Greatest Lizard Race at Lovington’s annual 4th of July Party in the Park!
We are currently accepting vendor applications and have already received strong interest. Our goal is to curate a diverse mix of vendors, including food, retail, and interactive booths, to create a vibrant and engaging event experience.
Early registration is highly encouraged, as it allows us to efficiently plan the event layout and accommodate as many vendors as possible. Register before May 31st to receive a discount vender rate.

Race to Freedom – Class of 1776 5K
Start your Independence Day with the United Way of Lea County's Race to Freedom – Class of 1776 5K! Join runners and walkers from across the region during the Lovington 4th of July Party in the Park as we celebrate 250 years of American independence.
📅 Date: July 4, 2026
📍 Location: Chaparral Park, Lovington, NM
⏰ Check-In: 7:00 AM
🏁 Race Begins: 8:00 AM
💵 Registration Fee: $25
Participants are encouraged to show their patriotic spirit by wearing red, white, and blue or dressing as a Founding Father for a fun and memorable race experience.
Proceeds from the event support the United Way Annual Campaign, helping fund 211 services and local nonprofit organizations that serve communities throughout Lea County.
Gather your friends, family, and coworkers and kick off your 4th of July celebration with this exciting community event. After the race, stay and enjoy all the activities, entertainment, food vendors, and festivities at the Lovington 4th of July Party in the Park.

Lea County Fair & Rodeo Parade Registration Now Open
The Lovington Chamber of Commerce, and the Lea County Fair and Rodeo, is excited to officially announce that registration is now open for the 2026 Lea County Fair & Rodeo Parade.
This year marks a special milestone as we celebrate 90 years of tradition with the theme:
“Hats Off to 90 Years.”
We invite businesses, organizations, schools, clubs, and community members to participate in this long-standing event and help us create a memorable celebration for all.
Parade Details:
Date: August 1, 2026
Start Time: 10:00 AM
Registration Deadline: July 30, 2026 by 5:00 PM
Participants are encouraged to register early as we anticipate a high level of involvement for this milestone year.
